The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan Snow Leopard Foundation have held a meeting on the occasion of the World Wildlife Day

The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan Snow Leopard Foundation have held a meeting on the occasion of the World Wildlife Day under the theme “Big cats: predators under threat” on 7 March 2018 in Islamabad.

Honorable Federal Minister for Climate Change of Pakistan Senator Mr. Mushahid Ullah Khan was invited as a main guest, as well as representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Diplomatic Corps in Islamabad, International and NGOs.

The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Erik Beishembiev in his address congratulated the participants of the meeting with World Wildlife Day and noted the important role of two International Snow Leopard Forums held in Bishkek in 2013 and 2017 for consolidation of the international community efforts in preserving the population of these kind of wild cats and biodiversity in general.

The participants of the meeting in their speeches underlined relevance of its holding in the framework of World Wildlife Day with the purpose of drawing attention of the world community and international support for preserving different species of wild cats, including snow leopards, which appeared on the brink of extinction.

Also, the Kyrgyz Embassy presented information on tourism opportunities in Kyrgyzstan and  introduction of the e-visa system, demonstrated video and arranged a stand with booklets.
